Stephen Kyle Gonzales, DO

Maternal Fetal Medicine

Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Gonzales completed his undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University. He then moved to Tennessee where he completed medical school at Lincoln Memorial University– DeBusk College of Medicine (LMU-DCOM). While there, he was inducted into the Sigma Sigma Phi honor society. He then moved to Chattanooga where he completed his OB/GYN residency at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, followed by another move to Atlanta, Georgia where he completed his Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship at Emory University. Along the way he received several honors, including the W. Powell Hutcherson, MD award, Fellows teaching award, and several Fellow research awards.

Dr. Gonzales then moved back to Chattanooga to join the Regional Obstetrical Consultants team. He is also a clinical instructor and Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga OB/GYN program, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, and a member of both the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the Georgia OB/GYN Society. He is board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology. His areas of special interest include diabetes, preeclampsia, and preterm birth. He is currently the Primary Investigator for several ongoing research studies at ROC and at UT Chattanooga.

Dr. Gonzales has a wonderful wife and four children, and he can often be found helping coach them through various sporting events, or enjoying hiking trips around the region. He aims to encourage those who are dealing with challenges, both through his profession and through volunteer efforts in the Chattanooga community.
