William E. Roberts, MD

William E. Roberts, M.D. was a military brat but considers Montgomery, Alabama his home. He graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University in 1970. Dr. Roberts attended Medical School at the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha in 1974. After a short career as a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force, Dr. Roberts completed his residency training at USAF Medical Center Keesler. After completing a Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Mississippi, Dr. Roberts became Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at USAF Medical Center Keesler. Dr. Roberts retired from the Air Force after 20 years as a Colonel and returned to the faculty at the University of Mississippi in 1990 where he headed an outreach program throughout the state. In 2003, Dr. Roberts became Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine Services at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Roberts returned to the South in August 2007 to join Regional Obstetrical Consultants. 

Dr. Roberts is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Maternal Fetal Medicine. He has been Professor at both the University of Mississippi and Penn State School of Medicine. Dr. Roberts publications include 84 journal articles, 18 book chapters and 2 books in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and maternal fetal medicine. During his career, Dr. Roberts has received numerous awards including most recently CREOG Teacher of the Year for 2003-2004, Best Doctors in 2005-2006 and America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists in both 2006 and 2007. Dr. Roberts is a member of several academic and professional associations and remains active in clinical research. Dr. Roberts resides with his family on Signal Mountain, Tennessee.
